I appreciated the clarifications that you provided about the fields of translation and interpretation. I think it is important for people to understand that bilingualism is only one of many skills necessary for being an interpreter or translator, and that there are many skills and personality traits specific to either interpreting or translating. I also find it interesting that someone who knows two languages cannot translate equally well in both directions, and that you said Spanish is your native language but it is easier to understand linguistic terms in English. What skills have been the most challenging for you to acquire as a translator?
